Being an IIMAKer

Willem Wynants

Willem Wynants

Operations Supervisor at IIMAK Europe since 2002
"3 years after I joined IIMAK in 2002 as slitter operator, I was given the opportunity to become Operations Supervisor. This brought more responsibility and variety to my job and the chance to cooperate on the optimization of our production process. As Operations Supervisor I analyze hitches in our production process and help to keep a continuous level of efficiency. I keep a close eye on the performance level of each operator and check where there is room for improvement. IIMAK has always supported me in my position. It’s nice to know you’re not a number here and that you have the possibility to grow personally and professionally. I like the close cooperation with the other departments - it creates an open atmosphere."

Accouting Supervisor at IIMAK Europe since 2006
"Since I started as a Junior Accountant at IIMAK in 2006, my career has taken a boost! On one hand my basic accounting knowledge has grown to a higher level through successfully completing finance related tasks and legal obligations. On the other hand, I had the opportunity to work on various projects like being a key-user in the implementation of our new ERP package. Knowledge and skills acquired during these projects are important milestones in my career. In 2010 IIMAK Europe changed location with a new building with larger warehouses and modern and pleasant offices. This brought an improvement for all departments. I appreciate IIMAK’s focus on creating an efficient workplace. In 2012, I had the opportunity to visit IIMAK HQ in Amherst, N.Y. and better understand the scope of the corporation and appreciate all that goes into ink making and coating. Recently, I was promoted to Accounting Supervisor and enjoy the responsibility of helping my team to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines and objectives."

Customer Service Representative at IIMAK Europe since 2004
"I joined IIMAK in 2004 as a Customer Service Representative and Marketing Coordinator. Through these tasks, I quickly acquired useful product and commercial knowledge needed to support our customers. I’m now fully focused on Customer Service and enjoy the variety of regular and project-based tasks this provides. Process optimization projects have taught me a lot and enabled me to make a contribution to streamlining our service. I’m very involved with dealing with customer claims and enjoy the technical aspect of this. I learned a lot through the years working closely with our Account Managers and being involved in several commercial projects across Europe. I feel that I always have opportunity for growth at IIMAK – there’s always something new to learn and improvements to be made for our customers and the company."

Ink Maker at IIMAK since 1989
"I am privileged to have had the opportunity to work at a company with such a friendly and helpful environment. Time goes by quickly when you enjoy your work and have a support group that will encourage and lend a helping hand when needed. Many coworkers have turned into close friends over my 25 years at IIMAK. I also feel IIMAK provides a lot of growth and training opportunities to expand your knowledge base and skill set. I've had the chance to work in many aspects of inkmaking but also collaborate with R&D, quality, engineering, and even work with companies outside of IIMAK."

Jennifer Eskra

Principal Chemist at IIMAK since 1996
"After starting at IIMAK as an intern 20 years ago, I’ve been given the opportunity to have a real impact on our business. Working in R&D at IIMAK involves opportunities to work on new product development, financial and marketing aspects of the business, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance. Additionally, having R&D located in the same facility as much of manufacturing allows me to watch our products grow from a simple seed of an idea to a full-fledged product that customers buy every day. I now lead a team that designs a variety of inks and coatings for a wide array of industries that are used all around the world each and every day."

Sr. Customer Support Technician at IIMAK since 1991
"I have been lucky enough to work in a field where there is a World-class workforce throughout ALL departments within our company. I started in converting back in 1991, and it’s hard to believe that a company has had so many opportunities for advancement throughout the years. This has lead me to the technical role I am in today. The strong leadership of our management team has helped transform IIMAK from a small Thermal Transfer ribbon manufacturer to a Worldwide leader in our industry today."
